Problem Note 41160: Tick values might be missing or overlap when the MARKERCHARACTER= option is specified in GTL

DetailsAboutRate It

Unpredictable results might occur when specifying the MARKERCHARACTER= option on the SCATTERPLOT statement in the Graph Template Language (GTL). This problem is most likely to occur if the SCATTERPLOT statement is embedded in a LAYOUT PROTOTYPE block and the length of the column specified for the MARKERCHARACTER= option is $200.

In the second maintenance release of SAS® 9.2 (TS2M2) and previous releases of SAS, the marker characters will overlay and only one of the tick values will appear for each group.

In the third maintenance release of SAS® 9.2 (TS2M3), all of the tick values within each group will overlay on top of each other.

To circumvent the problem, assign a length to the marker character variable.
